Shoe and Flashlight Test
by Hella ~ December 30th, 2003I took my new shoes and flashlight for a spin on an after-dark run with a friend; definitely a good lung burner! The light certainly helped with the trail terrain and concrete ups and downs. The green color of the LEDs seems to do a good job of revealing bumps, rocks, etc. It’s also easy on the eyes.
The shoes seem to be a perfect fit but possibly on the small side. I haven’t run in a while and they are brand new so they probably need to be broken in. Hopefully I’ll feel good enough come New Year’s Day and be able to do my annual (3rd in a row) half-miler from the north to south side of town.
I pushed the end of the run a bit much, became nauseated, and almost puked my way to a breast reduction; not my breast of course, but the chicken breast sandwich served to me at Hooters for lunch. Hooters and breast reductions really do go together if you think about it this way.
I finished off by hitting the gym for about 30 minutes.
