Trail Combo
by Hella ~ January 4th, 2004I decided to take advantage of the nice weather (temps in the 70s) and put in a good training run for my upcoming race this Saturday. I mixed it up with some more rugged terrain and the mostly flat and wide hike and bike path near downtown Austin. I did the 3.5 out and back with a 4 mile loop stuck in the middle for a total of 11 miles.
People were swimming in the spring again. I took a rest at the 3.5 mile mark to relax and people watch while I snarfed down a snack size bag of oreos and a large coke.
From here I continued to the Town Lake trail and put in a 4 mile loop without stopping. I came back to the spring and walked to meet the trailhead. I finished the last 3.5 miles with an occasional stop to recover my breath.
The blister seems to have grown a bit today but not quite busted. I think I will take a rest and hope that it dries up in the next few days.
