Seven in Heaven
by Hella ~ January 25th, 2004Man, I haven’t had a run this nice in ages! I took the newest trail shoes out for another spin to try and convince myself that I’m still getting used to them. The weather was perfect, though the trail was a bit crowded with “Sunday Drivers”. I took advantage of this by putting in seven good miles and held a consistent pace the entire run. I finished very strong and only stopped one time for a couple sips of water at the fountain.
One change I did make was the socks. I was wearing my alpaca wool socks made by Dahlgren. Originally I felt these socks were too soft and would move and thus cause blisters. However, they seem to work like a charm with my Leona Divides from Montrail.
I was paying a lot of attention to my stride and how my feet were striking the ground. I think I need to continue doing this for the next several weeks to ensure that my injury continues to heal and that I get into the habit of practicing good form once again.
I think this upgrades the shoes from just OK to probably good.
