Matriculation Process
by Hella ~ February 1st, 2004The online status check system continues to be pretty nifty and convenient. It is very nice to be able to see the processing of my materials without having to burden the office with phone calls or worry that the my mailings were lost in transit.
The first change I noticed was an additonal line that says “Official GMAT Scores: Verified”. My transcript is no longer a “Template” but instead is “Official”. Even though they took away the “Congratulations” from the Status Description, it now confirms that my enrollment deposit has been received. It feels good to log in there and see that my Admissions Status is “Matriculate”!
But the really great part about this process is the outpouring of congratulations that flows shortly after decisions are released. I remember receiving a couple of calls on December 19th and this was followed by a swarm of emails from all sorts of folks. Current students organizing holiday gatherings in my area, members of organizations I had contacted before I was admitted, the very kind admissions person who helped me arrange my alumni interview (who also called), and even my alumni interviewer joined in welcoming me to the Wharton community.
Even though this is one of the larger B-school classes, this process and the people involved give it a certain warmth. Too bad this warmth won’t raise the Philly temperatures in February, but I’m looking forward to Winter Welcome and my next two winters in a new place.

Howdy! Just wanted to say hey. I talked to a couple of people about some good chinese in philly. Try Lee How Fook (219 N 11th St), or Imperial Inn (146 N. 10th St) for good dim sum.
One of my favorites is Penang Malaysian Cafe (117 N. 10th St), which is not really Chinese, but Thai. But it’s very good.
To be honest, I’ve enjoyed all the restaurants I’ve eaten at in Chinatown (including all of the above) - it’s hard to go wrong.
Hope this helps your culinary pleasure!
