Super Bowl Runday
by Hella ~ February 1st, 2004After an exhausting run yesterday, I felt the need to see if I could have a decent run of a moderate distance without dragging my feet. I hit the lake loop around 5 this evening and the temperature was nice and there was almost no wind. The lake was very still and, thanks to everyone’s magnetism to their televisions, there was no crowd.
I made my first rest stop for a couple sips of water around the 2 mile mark. I kept my pace after this stop though I felt I was pushing a bit much. I continued to feel good through the 4.5 mile mark and I had the hillier part of my route left. My plantar fasciitis, or whatever it is that’s wrong with my right foot, was not bothering me. I was even powering up the hills and getting to the top with enough left to hold my pace.
I finished the run strong as it was just getting really dark. I managed a strong 7 miler and it feels like the running fitness I once had a couple years ago might be returning.
