50 First Dates
by Hella ~ February 21st, 2004I didn’t really know what to expect about this movie because I hadn’t seen any previews in their entirety. I figured it would be about two people that just didn’t connect so they kept agreeing to have another first date.
I’m not a big fan of DB, but I have generally enjoyed things by AS. I thought Mr. Deeds was hilarious, though a bit cheesy. 50 First Dates, while cheesy in spots, was actually quite serious in several scenes. It’s nice to see an actor like AS pull this off, as people like Jim Carrey just don’t cut it. The guy from Lord of the Rings (haven’t seen any of those) is also in the movie and his character provides a lot of comic relief. RS gives a great performance, too. My favorite scene involves him, DB, and a baseball bat … so watch for it.
I’d probably rent this movie but I don’t think I’ll be buying it. It was definitely worth seeing it in the theater, though.
