Lake Out and Back
by Hella ~ March 30th, 2004I took the kayak out late this afternoon for the first time in a long time. The sun was just about setting when I put the boat in the water. I made a lazy stroll down under 4 bridges and back to where I came.
There were several rowers out and their support boats were creating [...]
Strawberry Shortcake
by Hella ~ March 30th, 2004Well, it’s that time again. Krispy Kreme changed their featured doughnut from Cookies & Kreme to Strawberry Shortcake. The last featured doughnut was good, but I prefer this one. While it does have the shortcake flavor, it also has a hint of cheesecake, mostly due to the strawberry flavor and the creamy texture of the [...]
Seven Loop
by Hella ~ March 29th, 2004After a decent race yesterday, I had an even better training run today. Everything felt great. I had some Amelie going on the iPod; there’s something about the klinkity-klank of bells and chimes that helps me keep a good cadence.
I set out a bit late so it was dark by the time I finished, but [...]
Capitol 10K
by Hella ~ March 28th, 2004The Good, The Bad, and The Humid.
The Good
The race itself was nice. I actually enjoyed the crowds since I wasn’t shooting for any particular time. The course was a bit nasty around the 2-mile mark with a constant uphill that seemed it would never end. Beyond that, it was some gently rolling hills and then [...]
Cat Collars
by Hella ~ March 28th, 2004I bought the cats collars tonight. They ordinarily don’t wear collars but I found a good deal on a couple and thought I’d see how they took to them. A couple years back, I tried to put them in a harness and on a leash after seeing my neighbor’s cat taking a stroll in a [...]
Angels & Demons
by Hella ~ March 28th, 2004I really thought I had Dan Brown figured out this time. I’m glad I was wrong, because it made the book even better. I read the majority of it in one day (460+ of the 569 pages) and must agree with a few of my friends that this one is better than The Da Vinci [...]
FMG In at Wharton
by Hella ~ March 25th, 2004Future MBA Girl is in at Wharton! Congratulations :)
Steady Pace
by Hella ~ March 23rd, 2004My goal today was to go out for 4 miles and push the pace but keep it consistent. I don’t think I was going as fast as I’d like to, but I’m not in the shape I used to be in. I plan to run tomorrow and Thursday and then rest on Friday and Saturday.
@wharton.upenn.edu
by Hella ~ March 22nd, 2004I was able to claim my Wharton email address today by logging into Penn Portal and then registering for a Wharton account. It automatically assigned me both my Wharton address and my lifelong address. It says something about not being able to send email from this account until after April 21st, but I am lucky [...]
Submitting the MPN
by Hella ~ March 22nd, 2004I received a mailing today from AES-PHEAA Guaranty Services that contained details of how to complete my Master Promissory Note (MPN). One of the documents included was a laundry list of lenders and there was also a document that can be completed and mailed in to process the MPN. After looking over the mailing for [...]
