Cat Collars

by Hella ~ March 28th, 2004

I bought the cats collars tonight. They ordinarily don’t wear collars but I found a good deal on a couple and thought I’d see how they took to them. A couple years back, I tried to put them in a harness and on a leash after seeing my neighbor’s cat taking a stroll in a similar device. Anyhow, the collars are the types with the little bells on them so you can hear the boogers coming before they race into the room, lunge onto the bed, dart across your face, and leave a scar on your forehead a la Harry Potter (true story).

But back to the collars; Max totally freaked out. Everyone thinks perhaps he might have a bit of a mental issue. When I first got him, he was very tiny and the breeder told me he’d never grow to be very big. Well, he turned out to be normal size, just a tad bigger than Sofie, his sister, which is how he should have turned out. But I think he’s still a few cards short of a full deck. Anyways, Max kept rolling and wrestling with himself trying to figure out where the sound was coming from. He wasn’t trying to remove the collar as much as he was trying to overcome the noise that was attacking him. Poor little guy. He’s since gotten used to it.

Sofie took to her collar a bit better though she did wrestle with it briefly as if she was annoyed. She normally gives mean looks, so this wasn’t a surprise.

They now, after a couple of hours, seem to have accepted their new adornments.

Really cute cats, but which one is which? I’d hate to address them by the wrong name when I see them. :)
