Amsterdam
by Hella ~ April 14th, 2004I took the waiting time at the train stations and during the rides to finish the second half of Amsterdam today. This was really a slow starter for me, but it got decent towards the end. It definitely is more of a literary than popular book and as such, took more time to think about. I could probably do a second read and appreciate it a bit more. There’s probably a lot of symbolism that I missed. The characters were nicely intertwined and the plot takes a pretty unexpected twist at the end. It is ironic and funky and I guess that’s what I liked most.
I’m working through the two business books right now, but will probably also start Disgrace soon.
