Atlantic City
by Hella ~ April 14th, 2004I decided to make a quick trip over to Atlantic City today and caught an early train on the PATCO over to Lindenwold. From there, I caught a transfer onto the NJ Transit Atlantic City Line and to the final destination. From the convention center, a free Jitny bus takes eager gamblers over to the casinos.
I checked out Taj Mahal and Sands and played a few slots. I can’t say I came out a big winner, but this was my first time with the one-armed bandit. One of the signs claimed that the slots had recently been loosened, but I guess I caught them on a bad day.
It was not the high season in Atlantic City and it seems like most of the things were closed. It was such a ghost town that the boardwalk conjured up images of the Blue Fairy in A.I. Thankfully, my experience never got as bad as that movie.
I’m not sure what I was thinking earlier today but the weather was anything but nice. However, I kind of like the misting rain and I had a rain coat and umbrella so things weren’t that bad. I caught a mid-afternoon train back, transferred at Lindenwold, and continued on to the 9th-10th stop on the PATCO. I hadn’t eaten anything and had a particular place in mind.
