With summer fast approaching, I decided it was time I got off my butt and put it in gear for the people who got it in gear for me back in the Fall. I wasn’t sure what to get them at first, but I figured gift certificates to some nice local restaurants would be a good choice. I’ve also ordered them each a nice Wharton coffee mug. Hopefully both of the things will be memorable.

It was a little uncomfortable getting the gift certificates. I’m usually not dressed so nicely and the places I chose to get them from are swanky (at least to me; they are not places I’ve eaten). At one of the restaurants, I walked in and just stood there until someone asked me if I needed help. There wasn’t a host’s stand and it was a little bit awkward. It also took the person about 10 minutes to fill out all the paperwork and run the credit card because they have an old fashioned log book system for the gift certificates. However, the service was exceptional and just what I expected.
