Barnburner
by Hella ~ May 20th, 2004Man it’s getting really hot out there. I was sweating like a whore in church, but at least I put in the distance I set out to do. I tried really hard to give up around the 4.5 mile mark but I pushed on to finish the afternoon off with a 7 miler. I had some of my favorite country songs playing on the iPod and they came in handy when I was wanting to stop and walk. Around the last mile of the run, as I was climbing a hill, a biker passed me up. I recognized him as a coworker and he slowed down to chat as we crossed the IH-35 bridge. He wanted to know if I was still at work and I let him know that I’ll be there until mid-July. The conversation really helped take my mind off the tough job I was having and it was just what I needed. Now I just need to keep this up.
