Small World After All

I never expected things to be so interconnected but I was in for a surprise yesterday when a potential buyer came by to look at my last large piece of furniture for sale. To make a long story short, he’s a Yale MBA, knows one of my classmates for next year, and is friends with her boyfriend. While we were waiting for some help to arrive to take the armoire down the stairs, I was talking about some of the jobs I’ve held over the years. When the friend showed up to help, he turned out to be one of my former co-workers. Random!

On the drive to deliver the piece (we had to stop and secure it with more tie downs because it almost blew over and shattered all over the highway!), I had a good talk about my plans for the MBA and what I should focus on most. I never expected to have such a conversation with a buyer of the furniture I’m selling to make my move to b-school easier, but this is the type of irony that is definitely good. AND, it feels *really* good to no longer be worrying about moving so much stuff to Philadelphia.
