Changing Banks

by Hella ~ June 25th, 2004

I signed up for an account at a bank in the Philadelphia area since Wells Fargo has no presence there. That was over a month ago and I’m just now getting my hands on my checks that have the correct address. As convenient as the online signup was, the information systems at the bank I chose certainly do not seem to be up to snuff. During signup, I was allowed to fill in a permanent address and a campus address and select which one to use on the checks and which address to have them mailed to. I chose to have the campus address on the checks but to have them mailed to me here in Texas. Well, the first set had the Texas address, the second set was sent but never received, and the third set finally made it here. I completed the final step to move everything over this morning when I went to make a wire transfer. I just looked online and it appears to have been successful so now all that’s left to do is call the old bank and close everything down.

I wonder how good that Penn credit union is? I never hear of anyone using it. Lots of folks seem to use that bank right across the street from Huntsman.

I chose to go with neither of them. Now that the wire transfer is done and I have my checks, everything is cool. I have had good luck with their phone support and also with their Investment arm that will be handling my 401K rollover. I took a look at the online services for many banks before choosing and I still feel I selected the one with better features (or at least an interface I prefer).
