In the Midst
by Hella ~ December 14th, 2004We’re in the middle of finals now. Though yesterday and today are reading days, I had a final paper due yesterday afternoon so it already feels like thing are in high gear. It’s a bit overwhelming right now because I’ve got two big exams back-to-back on Wednesday and Thursday and then a final paper for Ethics due on Friday afternoon. I have yet to even *look* at the Ethics materials.
Sunday evening was our cohort’s holiday social. I volunteered to host the party in my apartment building’s club room since we were having trouble securing space elsewhere. It went off quite well and we had a good turnout and everyone seemed to have a great time (some had a bit too much fun; you know who you are!).
Tonight, a friend came over for a quick takeout dinner and we shared a couple glasses of wine. Though I have a lot going on, it’s nice to take an hour here and there to let things wash over. This seems to be the best way to deal with stress. If you don’t ever take timeouts, it just keeps getting more intense. So far it’s worked for me but I’m not sure it’s the usual way to cope.
Ok, time for bed. I’m going to attempt to get an early start tomorrow so I can knock out a lot of practice Accounting and Finance problems.
