S-NO-W
by Hella ~ February 28th, 2005Today is one of those days that’s better spend inside with nothing to do other than eat soup and watch TV. But then again, today was the last day of Quarter 3 classes (and the last classes before Spring Break!). Both are good reasons to journey to school and get it out of the way. I have two finals coming up; one is tomorrow and the other is Wednesday. Both are from 6-8p. Having them late in the evening makes it nice so we can all cram in our last (or first?) bits of studying.
We were supposed to have a bad winter storm today but so far I’m not sure it’s qualifying as such. However, right after lunch the snow was coming down in huge flakes, quite possibly the largest I’ve seen. It was neat to look at the plaza area of Huntsman as the flakes got caught in whirlwinds due to the building’s structure.
On my walk from Huntsman to the trolley, which I do at 6p on Mondays thanks to a marathon 3-hour Tax Accounting session, the snow was still hard but it was wet. Combined with the heavy winds and below-freezing temperature, it was really nasty. It wasn’t quite cold enough for the snow to stay snow though and it quickly melted and got me all wet inside my heavy coat. Something about ice cold water continually running down the back doesn’t make for a pleasant experience.
So tonight it’s a solid bit of studying for BPUB and probably a little bit of accounting thrown in to even things out. Hopefully neither exam will be bad enough to spoil what will be a very welcomed week without classes, recruiting, and other currently necessary evils :-).
P.S. Just say NO to snow. Now all I think about when I see it coming down is how muddy all the sidewalks are going to be and how careful I’ll need to be not to get the carpet in my apartment absolutely filthy.
