Icy Transitions
by Hella ~ March 1st, 2005This morning was the transition meeting for the Sales & Trading Club’s presidents to hand over the leadership to the Class of 2006. We met at 9am in a study room in Huntsman. Making the trip over there for the early meeting was a bit of a chore since we don’t have class today and the only thing I have to be on campus for today is my final exam at 6pm. But I am glad I went as the meeting was a great chance to look forward to the opportunities to be involved next year. I fortunately won an unopposed election as Treasurer and will be happy to work more with this club since I’ll be sitting on a trading desk this summer. Originally I’d considered trading as my focus coming into business school but decided to pursue research. This summer will give me a chance to see first-hand which one I really might like best.
Yesterday it was snow, today it is ice … and Huntsman. It is just slightly annoying that after a snowstorm that results in ice buildup, the front (Walnut) entrance to Huntsman is completely useless due to the danger of falling ice. While I appreciate that people could get hurt, could the designers not figure out a way to make the building both aesthetically appealing and functional? I mean, on some levels, the building fails to be either! Enough of that. Back to studying for BPUB. It’s just a slap in the face that after the exam tonight it’s time to get started on studying for tomorrow evening’s accounting exam.
Oh, this morning’s meeting did give me a reason to stop in and try Cereality. It was a bit pricy but rather tasty. I tried the “Devil Made Me Do It” blend of Cocoa Puffs and Lucky Charms. Mmm! However, given that I could probably blend the same mix at home for a fraction of the price, a little planning might make this place into a convenience only stop on my way to school.
