Learning Team(work)

by Hella ~ March 21st, 2005

After spending many hours (7+) yesterday preparing for today’s classes, I knew it would be a long day, particularly since I didn’t get to bed until after 3am and I got up around 7am. But today is finally over, capped off by two marathon 3 hour sessions. The first of which started at 3pm with Federal Income Tax Accounting. The second was our learning team meeting to discuss the marketing simulation.

Having waived a lot of classes, I’ve had limited interaction with my learning team. This semester is a bit different since the Marketing Strategy course has a significant learning team component. However, I’ve known from the Learning Team Retreat and Quarter 1 that they are all easy to get along with. Tonight’s meeting was proof of this as it went super smooth and we’re all pretty happy with our efforts. Of course we haven’t seen the results but we’re more of a team that likes to get things done without placing blame and without worrying if we finish last. So far I think we’ve done pretty well overall with team activities but the ease of communication and interaction cannot be overstated. It’s really been a good experience.

So now at 10pm I’m finally going to be able to eat dinner. Thankfully I only have one class tomorrow so it should make for a short day, which is good since it’ll be time to get prepared for Wednesdays classes. Wednesday is already shaping up to be a very busy day with activities scheduled from 9am-8pm. Lunch is double booked and I have a triple booking around 6pm. I feel bad about having to neglect some activities but it’s just going to have to be that way for now.
