Almost Into the Routine
by Hella ~ June 9th, 2005I’ve just about gotten used to waking up before 6am and getting to work around 7am. Though sometimes during the day I feel a tad sleepy, I’m making it home at night with plenty of energy. I usually don’t have much of a problem falling to sleep, though, but that’s a good thing.
Today I finished organizing a big 90-page set of data that I’d been working on for the past two days. The task was pretty much data translation but it forced me to be extremely meticulous and concentrate on it the whole time. I’ve been looking through some financial models, but I’ve yet to really run one on my own. That should be coming by the end of the summer though. The analyst I work with said it should be no problem for me by then.
Tomorrow is officially the end of my first full week there, and I guess I’m really looking forward to the weekend. There’s nothing like a really hot non-air-conditioned ride on the Chinatown bus to really heat up the night. Hell, for $12 one-way, I can deal with it. I had a sneaking suspicion the a/c on the bus would be either bad or non-existent and I guess I pretty much got it right.
The rest of the summer interns arrive next week and that’s when the after-hours networking events will really kick into high gear. They’ve lined up the really high profile people to talk with us and it should make for interesting events. So far, they’ve had really good food and drinks at all the gatherings and I’m sure the rest of them will be no exception.
