Textbook update
by Hella ~ January 9th, 2006So I really should have done more research. It turns out that two of my textbooks can be purchased brand new right off Amazon.com. Even with paying 2-day shipping, I’m still coming out $35 ahead. This is really retarded. The Penn Bookstore should suck it up and match prices. It’s also ridiculous that some professors don’t post a syllabus in advance of the first day of class. If they’d do that, we could look and see if the books could be found on Amazon in advance. It would be nice to have all materials on the first day. I won’t even get started on the course packs. Currently, the lovely automated system that allows students to order them online shows I’m not registered for any courses. The Wharton intranet unfortunately shows the same thing in one view. Maybe my registration has been canceled.

I agree with you with regard to professors posting the syllabus in advance of the start of class.
It boils down to laziness and the fact that their GAF-O-Meter (Give a F**K-O-Meter) is on the low-side when it comes to little, but important details.

Or how bout repro’s lightning quick ability to create a bulkpack. One of my prof submitted a bulkpack in freakin NOVEMBER. But as of today, the first day of class NO BULKPACK. That’s ridiculous. I don’t get it…
