Dishes are done
by Hella ~ April 21st, 2006Classes officially ended yesterday here at Wharton. My final week was mostly light in terms of lecture. In fact, I only had 3 of them. But I did have two exams. Tax was on Wednesday morning and Marketing Strategy wrapped up with a short case exam on Thursday. Interestingly enough, I’d solved a case on the same company during undergrad and the problem then was not too unlike the problem on the exam.
For the past couple of weeks, I’ve been battling cold/flu/allergies and finally made it into Student Health yesterday to see a doctor. She concluded I did not have strep throat (as I did last year) and that my tonsils did not look as bad as I thought. With all the projects and exams lately, it’s been hard to get consistently good rest. Today I took the day off as a chance to get in some extra sleep and I must say my throat feels much better.
As one book closes, another one is just starting. Classes have wrapped up, but as of today, framing has commenced on the house I’m having built. One of the biggest advantages to moving back to Texas now is the affordability of housing. Except for San Francisco, all of my post-MBA career plans involved affordable cities. So far the building process has been rather uneventful and everything is going as planned. Now that construction has started, I will have a better idea of the builder’s timeline which has been a bit opaque up til now.
Even though I do have one final exam on May 1, I will definitely take this weekend off. With the weather having recently turned nice, it should be two great days of relaxation.
Edit: 5 May 2006 - The last final wasn’t so bad after all

Are you going to Dallas? I didn’t see you at the Texas party. I’m headed to Houston with Katzenbach. They’re great–I’m excited!

Congrats on school and on your house!!
I would recommend looking into this for your house:
SpeedWrap All-In-One Cable

I installed it in my house, as well as a relatives new house.

Yes, I am going to Dallas. I wasn’t able to make the Texas party due to a few conflicts.
