Wawa Shorti
by Hella ~ April 29th, 2006I have recently become addicted to grab-and-go food at Wawa. In particular, I’m quite fond of their Shorti hoagie. They come in various sizes from 4″ to 10″ but the 6″ Shorti is usually just right for my appetite. According to the Hoagies page on Wawa’s website:
Wawa Hoagies
Delicious, built-to-order Wawa Hoagies are made in four sizes to suit every appetite: 4 inch Junior, 6 inch Shorti, 10 inch Classic and 2 Foot.
While the quality of the ingredients might not be quite as good as other sandwich places, the flavor is excellent. Something about the cheeses and breads they use just appeal to me. And while you can have it custom-made in the store, the grab-and-go option is always nice.

It’s funny, when I first moved to Philadelphia I never figured I’d buy more than a coke from Wawa. It doesn’t hurt that there is a store very near where I live. It’s also a convenient option late at night when all other places are closed. Sure there is Midtown Diner and Little Pete’s, but I find a shortage of late-night dining options in Philly.

Is there anyway that WaWa will ship hoagies? My husband is with the US Army and stationed in California. We are from Delaware County and really miss the wonderful hoagies. We haven’t had one in over 2 years>There is nothing even close to it out here. The sandwiches are on french bread and their italian is boiled ham, genoa and pepperoni and is really bad.

I’m not sure Wawa has mail order. The best bet might be to get a friend to buy one, pack it on dry ice, and FedEx that baby out for immediate consumption!
